Google Wave – The Gmail of 2009
Written on October 1, 2009 at 4:13 am, by KyleThe entire internet seems to be all over Google’s balls once again with their latest closed beta, Wave. For some reason this seems to be so much more popular than Google Voice is, despite still being a closed beta too. If you have been anywhere on the internet in the past 24hrs you know what I mean.
Twitter is still going out of control right now trending the crap out of Google Wave, pretty much all the fourms I vist are plastered with people looking for invites, but hell, even I would kill for an invite right now! I mean c’mon, it’s Google! This feel like 2004 when Gmail went into it’s first beta stage and the internet erupted into a frenzy over it. I don’t remember what I did, but I managed to get an account there pretty quickly.
The question is will this actually be worth it in the long run? Or is this going to turn into another Chrome where we pretty much never really hear about it again. I guess only time will tell…or perhaps if I had an account I could *wink wink*
2009: Best Summer Ever?
Written on September 23, 2009 at 4:13 pm, by KyleNow that the summer is officially over, I think I can say with full confidence that this was by far one of the best summers I’ve ever had. The summer started with the completion of our senior project, The Fourmation, which led to a successful senior show. A week later I graduated! Officially done with school, forever. The day after graduation I was off to the airport with my good friends Sean and Diego for the trip of a lifetime. Less than 48hours after throwing my graduation cap in the air I was standing outside the Louvre discovering horribly translated movie posters.

After spending a few amazing days in Paris, and doing everything you would want to do in Paris, we headed out to Amsterdam. A few more days there and before I knew it I was back in the Philadelphia airport waiting for my Brazilian friend to get through US customs (apparently having a green card sucks ass.) The entire trip was a blast, but it was good to be home. Little did I know that this was just the start of my summer.
Finally got some innernets…
Written on September 14, 2009 at 6:51 pm, by KyleNow that I’m all moved in to my new place in South Philly, Comcast finally decided to come out and give me my internet and TV. After waiting from 1-5pm (what the hell kind of time frame is this) on Monday I decided to call at 5:30 when no one showed up. The lady proceeded to tell me that my appointment time had changed to Tuesday from 1-3pm and that someone should have called to tell me this. Thanks a lot Comcast…
So Tuesday rolls around and they were actually on the ball. The dude showed up at 1:06 and jacked me in. Now I got internet and TV…about time.
Site is live!
Written on August 18, 2009 at 8:59 pm, by KyleEven though I still have a bunch of stuff to do, I figured I’d might as well move everything to the main domain…I mean a half done site is still better than that horrible Flash thing that was up before.

I’m sure there is some stuff that’s still broken and my portfolio page isn’t done yet…but whatever. You get the general jist of things. Leave me a comment when you find something that is broken (unless leaving comments is broken…)
The Fourmation is going to Beijing!
Written on August 17, 2009 at 3:57 pm, by KyleLast week we found out that our senior project Fourmation was officially accepted as a finalist in the Adobe Design Achievement Awards.
Adobe is flying our team leader, Jared, out to Beijing, China at the end of October to attend the Icograda World Design Congress ceremonies where the winner will be announced. This is really awesome news for our little project. The Philly Inquirer is also all over us to do another feature article about us and the project, however we have to wait until Adobe makes the official finalist announcements before we can do another interview. Regardless, The Fourmation is allover the place.
Maybe now when I decide to actually try and get a job someone will give me one…maybe.
Also, just moved the site to the main domain so I hope this works…still doing a ton of updates/redesigns…
